Classic is the name given to Alice Liddell's most iconic dress. It is Alice's only costume in American McGee's Alice, and her "default dress" in Alice: Madness Returns. It is based on the dress Alice wears in the original illustrations for Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but with macabre and gothic element.
In Madness Returns, selecting this dress for a New Game+ grants the in-game effect of Alice constantly regaining health while using Shrink Sense.
Like with most versions of Alice in media, her dress is blue; this color was popularized by Disney's 1951 animated film. It is knee-long with short-puffy sleeves, worn with a white pinafore over the top. There are blood stains on it from previous battles, and the bow at the back has a small skull in the center. She was given knee-high black boots, and a new pair of black and white striped stockings. She wears an Omega pendant on a silver chain around her neck, and the pockets of the apron have the astronomical signs of Eris and Jupiter sewn on them (Eris is the goddess of strife while Jupiter is the king of the gods and represents Alice's responsibility to Wonderland).
Hollow Yves appears to be a bow, which has a skull clasped around the tie. It is attached to a fairly firm ribbon around Alice's waist. The skull itself is very long in shape and is a cream colour that appears to decay mildly in certain areas. The cream of the skull matches the ribbon itself, but on Alice's dress it appears to be more of a white colour.
MerchandiseEditThe classic dress has received two figurines from both editions of the game, however, unlike the original, the Madness Returns edition is in fact posable. The first figure comes with a Cheshire Cat, while the second comes with several of Alice's weapons, including her Vorpal Blade, Pepper Grinder and Hobby Horse. The classic dress is sold differently from all characters in the Diamond Select (Madness Returns) edition of the figures, however, the original figure shared a box with the Cheshire Cat.
