  • Heads up. It's deleted now. No idea why though.

    • Also, can you add [[fr:Wiki_Alice]] to es.alice's main page :> I can't access it because it's sysop protected. Thanks~

  • Hey :) when you're not too busy, can you please prioritize es.alice's wiki-background? The tech updates in Wikia's system some months ago probably affected the way "background" is used in CSS. Just replace the body with this:

    body {
    background-image: url("IMAGE URL HERE") !important;
    background-position: top center !important;
    background-repeat:no-repeat !important;
    background-attachment:fixed !important;
    background-size: cover !important;
    color:#FFFFFF;
    }

    Refresh your cache and it should turn up in about an hour or earlier.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Song

    "It can be wordless or with words."

      Loading editor
    • The definition that comes up on Google is

      • "...a short poem or other set of words set to music or meant to be sung."
      • "...singing or vocal music."
      • "...the musical phrases uttered by some birds, whales, and insects, typically forming a recognizable and repeated sequence and used chiefly for territorial defense or for attracting mates."
      • "...a poem, especially one in rhymed stanzas."

      A majority of definitions require some form of vocal input for a "song". It's kind of subjective, but it seems "songs" is less accurate for most definitions. For example, you can sing a song, but you cannot sing an instrumental. So you could sing "Hush! Here Comes The Dream Man" but you couldn't sing "Pool of Tears". I just feel it's a little bit less conflicted.

        Loading editor
    • Also, the article itself says that version of "song" is vocal specific which kind of implies some conflict to the meaning.

  • Those designs... T_T I want to use the borders as this wiki's new cursor, gah. And the card symbols TT_TT it's too freaking awesome. It definitely has a use for a template somewhereee or the images beside the Welcome to Alice Wiki also works. Though I'm afraid to use it until the artbook is released. Or idk, thoughts?

    • Personally I really don't like the affiliates but thats just because there are so many conflicting logo's. The links I don't mind as much, but maybe a more concealed way of showing them would be nice?

      Also, not to pick at things but the EA logo in the corner has always annoyed the HELL out of me. I feel like it should be aligned to the third column on the front page, but it's more to the left? I love it down there but the alignment kills me. Is it just me or do you understand what I mean?

      I'll create some kind of design cheatsheet and I can talk about the red lines and whatever a little more if I still think they look a bit off but I can live with it. It's present in that navigation but it's more like the really bright one's at the side of the darkened area that seperates the wiki content from the Hatter's domain background. They're so vibrant and it upsets me.

      Also, not sure if this changes too much.....but recently I was on the Silent Hill wiki and I really do like the colour co-ordination. The primary difference is that they don't utilize yellow like us. Only red. I don't know if you'd agree to that or even if it would work (as it might mess with some backgrounds and textures) but I really do love it. I'll get actual pallettes when I have time similar to the Fallout one's and I'll shove the PNG's on my page like with the Fallout one's.

    • I'll combine the links to the appropriate sections so it's easier. I feel that we should start with the Featured Article soon anyway. Maybe we can have the Affiliates like the "Around the Hill" section in SH wiki.

      Ah. I made it like that because the placement of the footer and the EA logo, including the Links, Extras, and Affiliates will never align if it's distributed under the left and right columns, which is even more annoying. They are combined into tables with 50-50 width so they have their own adjustment and they're solely placed under the left column. EDIT: I changed it to 70-30, it should look nicer than 50-50.

      I don't get which one you're talking about ._. It's the WikiaPage element right? (Try using inspect element and you'll see it under WikiaTopAds, and we'll be on the same page if that's the one).

      We can change the link color in ThemeDesigner actually. Though I'm not sure which color would suit best. I like SH wiki's link color though, but it's more of an orange shade of red x.x

  • Is it the one found in the maze? Because if yes, can we rename it to Pressure Plate and change the wording of the trivia in Pressure Pad since the Plate only activates the portals? :>

    • This is what I put in the note. I'm not sure what you mean with "by someone out-with the production team" so I put it as the author not being part of the production team. If it's wrong, feel free to change it :)

    • Yeah, that's fine. I just meant that normally guides are written by people outside of the team who make and distribute the game itself. For example, the person who wrote our guide was called Greg Kramer and he wrote guides from Rayman, The Sims, Terminator, Spiderman and tons of other games. It's safe to assume he didn't actually work on all of these titles. And most content is probably analysis and self trial and error.

  • I was wondering what happened to all of the characters' quotes pages.

      Loading editor
    • Actually, I'm not quite sure about that myself. I believe LiaSakura removed them so you may want to confront her about it. I'm sure she had her reasons.

    • Hi! As stated in Thread:8267:

      "Following the creation of transcripts, the quotes page would have to be removed since most of the lines of each character would be present in the transcript. And there is also the problem with which lines of the character would actually be considered as a quote. The quote articles originally existed to have it separated from its main article in the event that the quotes would increase and clutters the page."

      A community consensus was asked for the creation of the transcript namespace and following the confirmed creation of the namespace by a Wikia staff, the transcripts were created and the quotes pages were removed.

      I hope this answers your question!

  • On the scale of 1 to impossible, how would you rate the probability of more concept art and other Otherlands-related images before December comes? I'm thinking of submitting a new post in Special:Promote.

    Here's what I have in mind:

    Headline: Join Alice as she discovers the horrors of the human subconscious!
    What's your wiki about?: Alice Wiki is dedicated to American McGee's American McGee's Alice, Alice: Madness Returns, and Alice: Otherlands. All of which is about Alice Liddell's personal adventures in Wonderland after a fire killed her family. Now on the final part of the Alice trilogy, Alice Liddell sets out on different "Otherlands" by connecting with and entering the different mentalities of various people such as Bram Stoker, Vincent van Gogh, Camille Saint-Saëns, and more!
    Main Image: A cropped File:Alice in Otherland Concept Art.jpg to fit the size limit.

    I can't publish this because one publish = one submission to the staff. So I had this stored somewhere XD. I've also been waiting for nice shots of AO itself (not the behind-the-scenes type of images and the other concept arts that are not related to the final lineup of AO episodes). We need about 9 for maximum limit, or 5 below is good. If you know more decent images that's related to the final plot of AO that would be great! Although, don't upload them here, since Special:Promote requires that 480x320 size and it will prompt you to upload via there anyway.

  • I'm at my wits end. I have gone as far back to an interview with American where he had blond spiky hair (the popular hairstyle back in 2001). Still nothing about Hatter's trivia. XD The one who did that trivia is User:Jesse panic, and she placed a tumblr link. Could you send a message to her there to ask which interview she was talking about? Pretty please? EmailUser function in Wikia has been disabled :| ListUser also shows her last login was in 2012. Although her last tumblr post was about a month ago. If we're lucky she might remember bits and pieces from that interview XD

    Anything else that returns the same exact trivia was copied from us when I searched using Google, so... it's a dead end.

      Loading editor
    • I'll try but she was active a month ago so expect a slow response ._.

        Loading editor
    • That's okay! As long as we have a lead on having a proof for that trivia. But if there's really nothing, I'd have to remove it. It can still be placed again but there should be a reference on which interview it was.

      Also, can you verify Cheshire's eyes for AMA? As far as I know it's yellow but when it glows it might be different in the other versions of Alice.

        Loading editor
    • We're like Sherlock and Watson right now XD

      As for the Cheshire, the yellow eyes can be seen in concept/promo art and the final eyes are slightly green in the final version of the game. We won't be able to source that in any other way than "play the game and look at the art" XD

        Loading editor
    • That's okay xD we have throughout AMA as reference. Thanks!

  • It's annoying. They even included the "This article is about..." in their copy/paste. That's just a fail. Is it that hard to give attribution to where they got it from? Wikia's CC-BY-SA license practically says it. Lol. This page is a prime example, along with its tumblr account.

    Can you post a notice in our fb page to at least give credit that they got the information from us? Blatant copy/paste of our articles with no attribution that it's from us is just plain rude. I thought that's obvious. Wow.

    • Oh, that one I never knew. And wow, how rude. When I visited the forums to see what happened on UA, I just saw this. While I do agree on the legal issues side that the admin said, UA seems to be apparently ongoing still (I literally just checked now xP). So I don't know how they're going go up against EA when the time comes. O.o

      Anyway, EA suddenly go up their asses when money is involved and they're not a part of it. Something like that.

        Loading editor
    • From the looks of things they're still working on it despite American telling them off for being, well, little bitches to put it politely. Too bad their site is down and there is very little activity.
