  • OKAY I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE PRESS KITS.

AMR had press kits, and this contained an AMR pocket watch. Allegedly, this also contained a collectors edition of the art book. Apparently someone found a source that makes it true, but I and many others thought it wasn't real. I'll wait up to see if they'll post the source but until then, what the heck? ;__; Also, I found a picture of an umbrella with the AMR logo on it that also has some press stuff in it. How come we never came across this stuff? Like, literally, no one has this merch. I can't even confirm right now if some of this is real D: Awhile back I wanted to seperate merchandise types and I want to start getting to that. How should we seperate staff only merchandise? There there are two pocket watches, a hookah, an umbrella and an unconfirmed and unlikely art book, but I kind of don't want to put them under "staff-only" or any kind of special page, especially considering some aren't even staff, they're just press, and I can't confirm the source of the umbrella, but I'd still like to categorize them all.

    Merchandise is confusing.

American needs to get his fandom sorted.

    • American needs to get his fandom sorted.

After reading this post: yep times infinity.

Also, I live under a rock, so it's best if we have full confirmation and then start organizing the Merch page. I think.

    • Awhile back I think we went over having large pages for merch but not individually. Like all figurines go under a "Figurines" page.  I'm pretty sure that's what Alex suggested, but I'd totally agree to have more of a discussion on it!

        Loading editor
    • Ah, yeah. Had to search for it in the searchbar, I forgot already ;-; The "all figurines go to Figurines page" is a great idea, and I can maybe work a switch in one thumbed image so you can continue with the "show the front and back" thing. Problem with the other merch would be their classification.

We can have a {{main}} in the merch page once they're classified so it's not as long as it used to be.

    • One other thing: all walkthrough for the AMA locations are from the Prima one right?

        Loading editor
    • Yes, all the AMA walkthroughs are Prima (which is why I changed "a walkthrough" to "the official walkthrough"). I was going to ask if we could give it credit similar to the wikipedia content credit?

I think the figurines would be really good, especially because they all have variants which would be better explained on a figurines page without making the page too long or dire. For some merch like games, literature or soundtrack, we could just give them/keep them as categories rather than pages. We could also have apparel, screenprints, posters, lithographs (I think "Art" maybe too long all by itself because we've not actually got all the art listed on merchandise yet), replicas, statues and then finally some kind of rare misc. items such as the pewter cheshire cat, pocket watches, umbrella, etc...

That's about nine pages all together. That's not too much, I think. This is what would be what:

      • Apparel: All shirts, bags, wallets, etc. (possibly the official classic dress, but that may come under "replica")
      • Screenprints: All screenprints from AMR/A:O
      • Posters: All posters from AMR/A:O
      • Lithographs: All lithographs from AMR/A:O
      • Replicas: Vorpal Blades/Teapot cannon (possibly the official classic dress, but that may come under "apparel")
      • Statues: Alice/Cheshire statues plus the smaller Cheshire statue.
      • Rare Misc: Pocket Watches, pewter cat, umbrella....
        Loading editor
    • Yes, but as a notice. I'm also planning to change the overall look of the main notice template for a more Alice look.

Wait, the bullets are 7, and statues means figurines, right? Or they're different? What's the other two? O.o

        Loading editor
    • Whoops ;__; I removed one of the things I typed because it came under other things and the 8th would be figurines :) Screw up on my part, lol :P

What are you going to do with the template? *interested*

Also, love the community messages. I always loved those drawings. I considered getting an Alice tattoo when I'm older, but I would never be strong enough to get a fandom tattoo in case I grew out of it, but I found out about UV tattoo's. They only show up on your skin under UV light and they look purple, just like Shrink Sense :3 I thought getting those little illustrations on my body would be SO cute :3

    • Ohh, lol. Soooo it's a total of 8 upcoming article pages XD.

No idea yet. But surely not the style of the current one. >_> Did you upload a "Certified by Rutledge Institute" icon? I have it saved in my laptop as a random file name, so I'm guessing I got it from here. Probably.

It's the first time I've heard about UV tattoos, seems neat! But the ink may have some reaction on the skin or something. I can't even get a henna, my mom doesn't allow it. ._. Anywho, I hate that the drawings seem little, so I'll try to break it up. I can't make it larger with the actual width it has now because it will go outside of the community-corner section itself -_- smh.

        Loading editor
    • Yes, I think I did. Or at least it should be on the wiki. I'm pretty sure it is part of American McGee's twitter anyway! Apparently there can be a few complications with UV but I've never been a sensitive person, so I'd hope for the best ._. Yeah, our community corner does look quite small now, but I'm pretty sure everyone will still be able to see it okay! I definitely can!

    • I can't find it with it's weird name. :| So it's probably from whichever website of American.

        Loading editor
    • Ah well, maybe there will be use for it in the future :P

        Loading editor
    • Also, I'm editing in parts right now. If I edit too much, with the new edit system, I can actually lose large edits without it saving. Sucks so much, but just so you know why I'm re-editing articles in parts rather than in one big edit. I've already lost two large edits on Fungiferous Flora :/

    • I hate VisualEditor, it lags, and I can't do the source mode I love to do >_>. You can use the usual Edit button if you're having too much trouble. Also, when you use VE, it's reflected (it says VE and the sections edited turns grey in the summary), so it's fine xD

        Loading editor
    • Well, I hate it ._. It's really a tragic thing to impliment if it can't save edits sometimes and lags horridly.

        Loading editor
    • Ooooo, I was just wondering if we could perhaps make a list of examples of what we could consider "perfect" or "preferred" articles? Other wikis feature articles, but maybe on our example pages we could link to our best character/enemy/location pages for reference?

        Loading editor
    • Also also, would it be possible to change the position of  "Attacks" and "Tactic" in enemy articles? I feel it would be more ordered for the enemies attacks to come first and then how to fight the attacks after. But that's just me being a bit meh.

        Loading editor
    • As it turns out, I'm remembering a lot of stuff I wanted to ask you!

Awhile back I saw an infobox that had tabs, do you think it may be a good idea to impliment those into ours? It means we could seperate games by tab and use the switch to alternate between pictures. I just thought because Otherlands is coming up, Alice is going to have A LOT of different appearances. I also thought it would be good for the Queen of Hearts as she has two forms in AMA.

just a little though though ._.

        Loading editor
    • I generally avoid tabs in articles because once they glitch the contents of each tab will appear all at once. Like when you visit the layout guides and they are still loading, the infoboxes appear side by side. Tabview is nicer but requires several different pages to call on one go. Dev Wiki may have a different tab layout, I'm gonna check.

And sure. I'll run my bot later to switch the tactics and attacks. We have Alice's page as a "perfect" character page. Not too sure about the enemies and the location yet.

        Loading editor
    • Even if tabs may be a bad idea, I think it would be great to sort sections in an infobox by game. Not sure how, though.

As I just finished it completely, Antlion would be an ideal AMA artcle. I'll be working on some other ones today!

        Loading editor
    • Yes, the separation would be good for some of the characters that actually need it. Btw, I meant tabber not tabs, lol, because tabview is also tabs ._.

        Loading editor
    • I think that would be good. Characters that would need it would be Alice and the Queen so far, but as for the rest I'm not sure.

        Loading editor
    • Test area.

Tabber seems the best idea now, because tabview doesn't let the switch templates work =_= Although now the tabber has made lots of weird gaps in the image unlike tabview, it looks the same as the current infobox and just has the tabs above. Tabber doesn't allow parameter passing yet (i.e. can't put whichever image is typed in to AMA= or AMR=) I have to force it with the default images, there's a workaround somewhere and I'll get to that later.

Do you have a color scheme for tabber? Because the color for the inactive tab seems meh for me and it can't be black because in mobiles, wiki-background doesn't appear and it's just the default plain old black for this wiki. :| Also the colors applied would be wiki-wide and would show to the pages that use tabber, not just in the infobox.

      Current colors for the tabber:

      • active tab: #310000
      • inactive tab: #333333
      • the thick line below the tabs: #232323
      • when hovering over the tabs: black
        Loading editor
    • I'm not quite sure what other colours would be good. Maybe our yellow if its not too much?

        Loading editor
    • Too bright xD

        Loading editor
    • Thought so ._. I have no idea then ._.

        Loading editor
    • Changed it to 111111, seems ok-ish. Dark colors are a pain >_>

        Loading editor
    • How goes the press kits validation, btw?

        Loading editor
    • I'm pretty sure the book isn't real, but I can't /really/ confirm the pocket watches, but the materials it comes with seem legit.

        Loading editor
    • Hmm, the only image can't even be retrieved :| Can American be asked about this or he's keeping it a secret for fun or policy or something else o_o

        Loading editor
    • I actually managed to get the image up and I've found a few more random ones. I'll ask American!

        Loading editor
    • All right :)

    • The tabs are ready, do you have the reality version of Alice in AMA?

        Loading editor
    • Haha, the tabs broke my head, I had to use switches due to the case with the Queen of Hearts only having one form in AMR. Just replace The confrontation.png in AMA2 with the Queen of Hearts' real body.

There really isn't a "reality" version of Alice. But there is the cutscene at the end of her leaving Rutledge, but she's just wearing the same Wonderland clothes. BUT there is the Storybook where Alice is leaving Rutledge and she's wearing different clothes.

I'll dig that, up, but unfortunately the battle ground from that area suffers from some really unique lighting, but I'll see what I can do!

Damn, hmmmm. But if we get a decent size of from that newspaper article, it should be ok.

      Yay, thanks!

    • Hopefully. I'll see if on my computer screen it's at least fairly big enough to use.

        Loading editor
    • If you are going to start on the figurines page, {{Image switch}} is ready. I added switch names because you might need other names besides front and back. The default is front and back so you don't need to include switch1 or switch2 in the template parameter if you're using them as switch names.

        Loading editor
    • I'll get to that later on one of my pages :) Also, do you think maybe we should advertise A:MR on the front page on Steam as it's 50% off on the summer sale? A:MR is rarely on sale, it's basically on sale during summer and on halloween. ._. It would also good as a template as we could put it on any time and take it off to suit the prices and dates :) (It might look nice at the front of the "Alice news" template :3)

I just think that with Otherlands coming up, sales will be crucial for a new game on Otherlands. Spicy Horse need all the help they can get.

        Loading editor
    • Yes! {{Steam sale}} is the template name. Just put the Steam link for AMR and I'll make a quick short one to fit the Alice corner.

        Loading editor
    • If you have a general look for the template, let me know :) except notice templates, because the width is set so it will go outside the Alice corner.

        Loading editor
    • The sale has a set percentage right? Just replace "on sale" with "percent% off", so it sounds better ._. And "grab it now" is linked to the AMR summer sale steam page.

        Loading editor
    • Added the percentage and direct link :) It looks great!

    • Thanks :)
